Re-Communicate

People are constantly trying to invent new ways of collecting and storing sound. I didn't want to collect and store sound, rather expose it, by trapping it in a visual aesthetic. I meticulously deconstructed a sound recording device and painstakingly labelled each element. I wanted to represent the complexity of sound. When I trapped the components in ice they remained suspended as a snapshot of a moment, which can now be continuously viewed, making the temporary permanent.
