"You can imagine everything, try out every image on a computer. But the image will never have the perfection of hand-done work. That freedom is so important to me. I don't like to use the square, aggressive teeth of the computer screen. Except when it is used within a composed image. The future development of images is linked for me with the accidental effects brought about by hand. In spite of some modestly rewarding experiences with a 'paint box' I see no use for computers in my personal work. I prefer the Polaroid because it is candid, ephemeral and instantaneous and it brings everything down to the bare truth, stripped of superfluities"
